Jessica Rys enters her seventh season as the head coach of the Williamsville North Varsity field hockey team. The head field hockey coach since 2018, the Williamsville North Varsity field hockey team has won the Sectional Championship, Regional Championship, and was the State Finalist runner-up in 2018, followed by a second Sectional Championship in 2019. Prior to 2018 Rys was the JV field hockey coach for Williamsville North in 2015-2017. Rys has also been the Williamsville North JV lacrosse coach in 2015-2016, the Varsity lacrosse coach in 2017-2022, and the modified lacrosse coach in 2023. Rys has also participated in the USA Field Hockey Nexus Program as a coach and is a founder and coach for the Williamsville Stampede Field Hockey Club.

Prior to joining Williamsville North High School, Rys was an assistant coach on the Cortland field hockey staff in 2014. Rys also coached modified lacrosse in the New Hartford Central School District in the spring of 2014.

A graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education, Rys captained the field hockey club team and played attack on the women's lacrosse club team. Rys has also earned a Masters Degree in Physical Education from West Virginia University.

A native of New Hartford, N.Y., Rys competed in field hockey and lacrosse at New Hartford Senior High School.
